Now, this is way cool, and everybody in North Las Vegas should think so, too.
There were mammoths in North Las Vegas, and there’s a whole bunch of bones to prove it. (Sun,KLAS,LVCL)
Forget the fake dinosaurs in the parks, the Las Vegas Wash has got the real thing.
However, as we well know, developers can’t look at a piece of land in the Valley without thinking how much better it would look with a tavern or a casino on it. And the wash and it’s mammoths are threatened by public officials who are a bit too anxious to help those developers pave over the valley.
Some folks are trying to change that, and you can learn all about it from the Protectors of the Tule Springs. Be sure to contact them and ask how you can help. The BLM will be having public hearings next year, so watch out for that. I’ll try to keep you posted.
