According to Ralston's Flashything, Mayor Mike Montandon, who says he's thinking about running against Jim Gibbons for the governorship–or what's left of it–in 2010, made some "startling" remarks at a Republican love-in lunch last week. He claimed he is running because he had a "funny feeling" that the "state needed it." And a whole bunch of Republicans applauded.
That bodes ill for the fellow who currently pretends to be governor, and, sure, Montandon would be a better governor than Gibbons. But, then, so would a ham sandwich. A really old, stinky, moldy ham sandwich.
