Parks on the Chopping Block?

The North Las Vegas Advisory Board on Parks and Recreation will be holding a special meeting next Thursday, July 29, at 5:45 pm over at City Hall.

The main agenda item is “Discussion and/or action regarding the importance of our parks and the need to
preserve and protect them.” This, I have heard from a source I call “Deep Throat,” means something like “the city’s budget continues to shrink and by damn we gotta cut something–hey let cut more pools and parks and park staff.”

That being the case, it might be worthwhile for civic minded Nor’Townies to make the effort to show up and let the Board know what you think. So they can pass those thoughts up to Council.
