This time the April Fool's joke is on us. Here's your chance to have a gander at the folks who own your favorite candidate! Check out the first round of campaign finance reports, showing up so conveniently after two weeks of early voting are already done and gone. Here's just a sample of the fun [...] Woah. I bet kids in her class don't talk back to Ms. Smith. Teach struck back at William Robinson's mailer about the sewage plant wherein Mr. Robinson attacked Smith and Shari Buck for voting for Nor'Town's very own treatment facility. In a mailer showing up in a mailbox near you, Ms. Smith asks ever so [...] Or is that hermaplican? Councilwoman Shari Buck, perhaps under the advice of her crack campaign manager Dan Hart, has decided to run as a Democrat! At least that seems to be the gist of a flyer I got today, complete with a pic of Buck with notorious socialist and mad-dog, big gu'ment liberal [...] Flyers! Flyers! Mayorwannabes are sending out flyers! My absolute fave comes from William Robinson, who, desperate to separate himself from the other wannabes with whom he has generally voted in lockstep over the past decade or so, attacks Shari Buck and Stephanie Smith for their vote for the new treatment plant. Of course, the [...] Candidates have officially started signing up for Nor'Town mayor and council seats. So far, Shari Buck, William Robinson, and Stephanie Smith have signed up to run for mayor. On their Declaration of Candidacy forms, both Robinson and Smith admit to being Democrats, although stating one's party affiliations is optional in this presumably non-partisan race. Buck [...] Year-end campaign finance reports are in and it looks like that sneaky old fox William Robinson has the biggest bucks so far. According to the Sun the numbers are: William Robinson…$127,000Stephanie Smith….$ 71,000Shari Buck………..$ 67,000 It's interesting to note that Buck's bucks are mostly a holdover from the 2007 race and according to the Sun, [...] Gubewannabe and lame duck Nor'Town Mayor Mike Montandon will be hosting a clay shooting event to raise funds for area Boy Scouts, tastefully announced over on the site Ammoland.com, which has all sorts of neat pictures of bullets on it. (Ammo) Now, I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing–given that pretty soon you won't [...] Oooo! I saw a Stephanie Smith for Mayor sign on the Craig today. The Nor'Town mayoral contest has begun. I noticed that the incredibly shrinking Review Journal has decided to take a few pokes at Smith over in what passes for its editorial page. It attacked her for supporting government spending on infrastructure as a [...] They should rename the town Dr. Jeckyll, Mr. Nor’Town, it has so many faces. The opening of Aliante Station presented the town’s face that the Mayor and City Council prefer to have in the public eye. And they had much help from the local newspapers telling us over and over just how nifty the first [...] Well, okay. It's more of a wedge issue, but I'm guessing it feels like a wedgie to the North Las Vegas Housing Authority. It's pretty hard telling the difference between Nor'Town councilmembers if you look at their voting records. Most issues they face are pretty straightforward and pretty dull.
